"In the game (after 28... Kf8), I feel he must be holding, cause the position is very forced. But he has very little time and I did not see anything easy and with the time ticking it is very hard," commented Anish after the game.
He is joined at the top by Alireza Firouzja (won against Duda), Fabiano Caruana who demonstrated excellent knowledge of Najdorf and took an upper hand on Vachier-Lagrave, and 21-year-old Jorden Van Foreest who beat Tari.
