May 5 is the #birthday of Andor Lilienthal (1911-2010) who lived a long (99 years!) and eventful life. He was one of the GMs who were awarded this title in 1950.
During his career, he defeated world champions Lasker, Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, Botvinnik, Smyslov, & Menchik.
