No one is invincible! Magnus Carlsen who has hardly put a foot wrong this year, was brought down to knees by Chinese no.1 Ding Liren at the first round of Saint Louis Rapid!
Ding Liren played a brilliant game, got an advantage, sacrificed his queen, promoted one of his pawns to a queen and finally checkmated Magnus' king right in the centre of the board.
In spite of having a 2-18 score against Carlsen, Ding Liren managed to fight his ghosts and beat Magnus.
